Keep Poplarville Beautiful 2016

On April 23rd, Poplarville hosted the Keep Poplarville Beautiful event in keeping with Earth Day.  Students and community members alike assisted in collecting trash around the city, starting with the city park.  Many TSA4 members volunteered as well as other students in Mrs. Merritt’s and Ms. Baxter’s classes.  After arriving early in the morning and picking up bags from the park, students travelled about the city cleaning up designated areas.  Door prizes, including free haircut certificates from local salons, were randomly awarded, and some of the students won.  As the students finished collecting, they returned to the park and turned in their bags, loaded with litter.  They unanimously agreed that it was an exceedingly positive experience and that it was a joy to give back to their community.
